About the Event

This year’s mini-conference is going virtual! We are bringing an array of topics and presenters to you this year, all from the comfort of your home. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear topics on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the vast world of AmeriCorps partnerships, and learn courage-building skills through interactive exercises.

Featured Speakers Include:

Dr. Catalina D’Achiardi-Ressler (Licensed psychologist and Dare to Lead Facilitator)

With her over 15 years of experience as a licensed psychologist, Dr. D’Achiardi-Ressler will inspire participants to move from armored leadership to daring leadership based on the research and findings in Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead book. This interactive session will give attendees the tools and exercises to become braver and courageous leaders in their professional and personal lives.

Claudia Shabel (Founder, President and CEO of Shabel Solutions)

Claudia combines over a decade of experience as a Diversity and Inclusion practitioner and strategist with Fortune 500 companies along with her multicultural background to offer coaching and consulting services in the areas of equity, cultural competency, diversity and inclusion to businesses, educational and not-for-profit organizations. She will encourage attendees how to build an inclusive environment for people from all backgrounds.

AmeriCorps is the federal agency connecting individuals and organizations to tackle the nation’s most pressing challenges. Speakers from Volunteer Iowa, Green Iowa AmeriCorps, and AmeriCorps NCCC will provide an overview of the Iowa AmeriCorps programs, explain how your organization may be able to utilize AmeriCorps members, share project examples and member experiences, and provide resources and contact information to learn more.
