About the Event

Share the Love with your volunteers today and every day.

Volunteers need to feel valued and appreciated. They love knowing what they are doing is helpful and meaningful. How do we do this in a variety of ways?  Melanie Adams, MA, CVA, Senior Director, Education & Community Volunteers at Alzheimers Association-Illinois Chapter, will share her experience in sharing the love with volunteers. Join us as we dive deeper into volunteer appreciation.

Melanie Adams is relational by nature, with unending enthusiasm and energy! Melanie earned a bachelor’s degree

in Therapeutic Recreation from Southern IL University and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Lewis University. She is also a Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA).

Melanie has spent the past twenty-five years in the non-profit sector leading teams and volunteers in the non-profit world of leading with Mission. Melanie’s mission, and passion, is to inspire, educate, and empower others: all while having fun!

Melanie likes to quote philosopher Plato, who said, “You can learn more about a person in an hour of play than in a life-time of conversation”. Melanie takes that to heart, and knows how to put the FUN in the FUNdamentals of volunteer leadership. As servant leaders we lead from behind, and cheer from the front. If Melanie were to get a tattoo, it would simply say “MAKE IT HAPPEN, and have fun while doing so."
